Nifty’s World is a seamless augmented (AR) experience designed to transport users into
interactive, visually rich scenes directly from their mobile device. From the moment the app
launches, it prioritizes simplicity, engagement, and immersion, making the experience accessible
and intuitive even for first-time AR users.
Getting Started: The First Moments
Upon opening the app, users are greeted by a clean, elegantly designed info panel. This panel provides helpful context about the experience, including what to expect and how to begin. It also contains a link to niftysworld.com, which offers additional background, behind-the-scenes content, or promotional material for those interested in learning more.
The info panel is intentionally unobtrusive and can be dismissed or recalled at any time by tapping the pink info button located in the bottom-left corner of the screen. This ensures that users can move forward at their own pace, without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
Establishing the AR Environment
Once the info panel is closed, users are gently guided through a quick floor-scanning process. A clear and friendly animated prompt walks them through this step, helping the app understand the user’s physical environment.
This scanning process is essential, as it allows Nifty’s World to take advantage of ARKit (for iOS) and ARCore (for Android), which are software platforms specifically designed to enable AR experiences on mobile devices. These tools help the app detect flat surfaces, such as floors or tabletops, so that virtual content can be anchored realistically within the user’s environment.
Once the app establishes reliable tracking, a subtle and non-intrusive box appears on the screen, anchored to the floor. This box includes a simple message:
“Tap to Place”
This prompt invites users to select a spot in their space where the AR content will appear. With just one tap, the world of Nifty’s World begins to unfold. For the best experience, it’s recommended to choose an open area that allows for 5-7 feet of space between you and the location where the AR scene will appear. This extra room helps ensure smooth interaction, clear visibility, and the most immersive experience possible.
Launching the AR Experience
As soon as the user taps to place the content, the experience begins instantly and dramatically. A large door rises slowly and smoothly from an embedded elevator shaft in the floor, delivering a cinematic introduction that sets the tone for the rest of the experience.
With a subtle hum and glowing lights, the door powers on and slides open. From within, a friendly robot emerges. The robot not only greets the user, but also acts as a guide, offering a brief and approachable tutorial on how to interact with the world around them.
Interacting with the AR Experience
The robot presents a sleek, translucent floating tablet. On this tablet are four interactive buttons, each leading to a unique AR scene or interaction:
• Bike
Once you engage the Bike experience, the portal opens to reveal Nifty’s World NovaRider, a sleek, futuristic beast built for speed and style. As you move closer, the music intensifies, pumping up the energy. Step through the portal door, and you’re fully inside the scene, surrounded by the bike’s epic design and dynamic atmosphere. It’s like stepping into a high-octane video, where every detail revs up the thrill.
• Warrior
With this experience, the portal door bursts open to reveal a fierce warrior standing guard, ready to defend the gateway with unwavering strength. The warrior’s intense presence commands attention, bringing the scene to life with stunning special effects and dramatic energy. When the experience ends, the portal door closes smoothly, signaling the warrior’s watchful retreat. We recommend exploring this scene multiple times to find your perfect spot for capturing and sharing the action-packed moments, and fully immersing yourself in the heroic spectacle.
• Underwater
Approach the portal and take a moment to look behind it, you’ll see nothing but your real-world space. Now, turn back and watch as the entrance shimmers with flowing water, inviting you to step into something completely unreal. As you walk through, you’re transported into a calm, immersive underwater world filled with drifting marine life and ambient sound that instantly shifts the mood. The contrast between what’s behind you and what lies ahead is pure AR magic. And when you’re ready, simply walk back out the way you came in to feel the surreal moment of leaping between two worlds. Explore it. Capture it. Share the moment.

Want a refresher or need extra guidance? Tap this button at any time to bring the robot guide back into your scene. The robot will walk you through the interaction steps again, making sure you feel confident and ready to explore. Whether you’re just getting started or returning for another round, help is always one tap away.
Capturing and Sharing the AR Moment
To make it easy for users to capture memories of their experience, a circular capture button is located at the bottom center of the screen. This feature works as follows:
- Tapping the button takes a still photo of the current AR scene.
- Holding the button records a video, allowing users to capture more dynamic interactions
or storytelling moments.
Once a photo or video is taken, the app automatically brings up the device’s native share panel. From here, users can easily share their content across social platforms, send it directly to friends, or save it to their photo library for later viewing.
